Violet was out on Saint Mark's Square for lunch, she was having a light salad like she'd been doing for quite sometime eating light and less often. Her pranzo in piazza was going great for now, it would be divina (devine) if one of her friends would join her or better yet. Lachlan. Violet adored Lachlan she was completely head over heals for him and didn't know how to get back.
It was a modern Romeo and Juliet tale, two families who hated each other yet the son from one and the daughter from the other were in love. It wasn't how Violet thought love should be but if it was love it was love. She hoped that hers and Lachlan's tale had a happy ending to it rather than the death ending of Romeo and Juliet or Tristan and Isolde did.
Violet was basically picking at her Insalata Caprese, which was a salad made from mozerella, basil, and plum tomatoes, seasoned with salt, pepper and olive oil. The cafe she was eating at provided Bruschetta, an open faced garlic bread with tomato, cheese, and red pepper on it, for no charge with the salad. For her drink Violet had Amarone which was a dry red wine of the Veneto region in which she was living.
Being nineteen and in Italy had it's advantages, she could drink, but she never got drunk from it. Usually drinking red wine or champagne but nothing stronger than that. Sure she did go out with her friends and had the occasional sip off of their drinks but never much more than that it was far too fattening if you asked her.
Of course anyone who looked at her knew she was far from fat, but she felt that she was and that was what she saw when she looked in the mirror was a fat pig. Violet twirled her wine glass a bit watching the people go by. The whole scene reminded Violet of Roman Holiday. It was magical and breathe taking even to someone who'd been there for so long.
When she was younger much to her dad's surprise and delight, Violet had demanded to take ballet. He only later found out it was because she had found out that Audrey Hepburn had been a ballerina and that his daughter idolized her greatly. Violet was just enjoying the scenery watching for someone she knew to come past and join her.

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. The day was quaint, a proper description of the cloudless sky and blatant yellow sun suspended just over their head. It wasn't a gorgeous today. No colors worked their way along the blue skyline. It was simply that, blue. But dismal would be improper as well, considering that this particular shade of blue was fascinating and light. If it only you could reach up and grasp a piece of the puzzle. But once again, the sky lay still. No clouds to mess with the smooth texture, no rainbows to color the horizons. Blue. Nothing more than the single color.
Lachlan stared at the sky above him, chewing on his bottom lip while he pondered his thoughts. A petite black journal lay open in front of him, a pencil accompanying it yet the pages were blank. His hands twisted and grabbed and flowed, never settling in one position for long. The absent minded look on Lachlan's face said that he was completely unaware that any of this was happening. He had become unattached from his body choosing, instead, to surrender his thoughts to the bright color hovering above him. At one point he glanced down at the journal open at his feet. He squinted his eyes in curiosity at it before returning his gaze to the blue beauty. His whole body was stiff as he sat there, simply staring. What else could you do when the sky was involved? It wasn't touchable, but sometimes the sight of it provided all the warmth you envied and made you satisfied.
The grass around him fluttered as Lachlan pushed himself into a standing position. He stretched for a moment, letting the stiffness in his limbs catch up to him. The journal lay unattended at his feet, though Lachlan quickly made work of it, stowing the little black book in his pocket and pulling out one of similar size and shape. This one had words written on the cover. A Midsummer's Night Dream. It had been a present from home. As a child he had always enjoyed the classics, choosing them over foolish fairytales and happy endings. Before he could even comprehend Shakespeare's writing he had been composing pictures of anything and everything that had come out of that great man's mind. His favorite person to draw just happened to be Bottom from the book he was currently holding. His idea of a donkey head always brought rounds of laughter to the dinner table. Lachlan smiled to himself, recalling those fond memories.
The young man took only a moment to staighten the crisp white shirt and then began his traipse down the street. His eyes remained focused on the yellowing pages of the book as he walked down the bright streets. A thin smile was permanently plastered to his face, a smile that could only be caused by his favorite book...or a certain young lady. It was her hair that caught him. It shined in the light. Lachlan realized who these locks belonged to before he even got a good look at her face. He quickly lowered the book, his mouth hanging slightly open. It was her, though he doubted that he would ever get her face wrong. Lachlan fumbled with the book, attempting to force it sideways into his pocket. After some time he realized his mistake and turned the book to stow it farther down in the pocket. He took one step...and stopped.
Not only was he slightly nervous, but his manners were ridiculous. Lachlan turned and surveyed the area. His feet quickly carried him to a food stand only a few meters away. He barely focused on the menu and ended up pointing out something random. His thoughts were still focused on the young lady he had just encountered. It provided no shock when he was handed a platter decked out with a heaping pile of fettuccine alfredo. He wrinkled his nose in disgust before grabbing a fork and wondering towards the table Violet was seated at. He stood for a moment next to the open chair, smiling down at the young woman. "Miss Violet. How good to see you. May I take a seat?" Lachlan sat down before he had received an answer. "What brings you out on this day?" This quaint day.

You filled my soul With your beauty and with hope We're different although We were just like water in sand Violet was deep in her own thoughts picking at the food in front of her and drinking small sips of her wine. She suddenly came out of her fantasy world seeing Lachlan sit down. Violet smiled to herself seeing him there. She thought he was the most amazing thing on the planet. If the world went with her standards he’d be the center of the universe at the moment. She tucked her hair behind her ear watching Lachlan order something to eat. He hadn’t really been paying attention to what he was ordering she noticed that by the way he just pointed at something on the menu.
When he walked over to her with the heaping plate of fettuccine alfredo which was something Violet wouldn’t touch at the moment. She knew if she did she’d force herself to throw it up later. She didn’t deal well with the fact that she felt like a fat cow. She was glad that at home she had her own bathroom. She could go in there and throw up without notice. Her parents had been supportive of her vegetarianism.
“Of course you may, Lachlan” said Violet
She was looking at his brown eyes, she could stare at those brown eyes for hours on end. He was attractive, and totally the guy of. She couldn’t help but smile sweetly at him. She had her hair tucked behind his ear and she was playing with the lock of her hair that she’d just put there. It was a flirty gesture she’d seen in many Audrey Hepburn movies. She couldn’t help but flirt with him she was in love with him. She knew that it would be hard for them to be together though but she didn’t care.
“I needed to get away from the house, it’s too nice of a day to remain inside” said Violet
That and she and her mom had had another argument about some stupid thing that Violet didn’t care about. She just wanted to get out and be out in the open air and enjoying the beautiful day. She was glad to see Lachlan though, she was wanting company and he was the perfect company for her at the moment. She was ready for the company and a nice pleasant conversation with him. ;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. "I completely agree with you," Lachlan mumbled, shifting around in his seat. he could feel the book poking him on one side, while the journal cut through him on the other. He tried to keep the look of discomfort off his face but knew very well that he was failing at this task. Eventually, he gave up on trying to get comfortable and simply pulled the two items from his pocket. Lachlan laid the book on top of the journal and pushed them off to the side table, sending a hint of a smile in Violet's direction. For all he knew, she would take these actions as flirting. Lachlan had to admit to himself that he wouldn't mind if the lovely maiden thought this though. He let his fingers trace the wrinkled pages of the book before pulling his hand back and grasping his fork. His eyes fell on the puddle of noodles laid out before him. The fork clattered to the table once more.
Lachlan glanced over at Violet's plate wondering if her meal was any more appetizing. He noticed her picking at it and frowned. "Caprese not any good? I thought they got good reviews around here...last time I listen to the critics," Lachlan mumbled the last bit under his breath, just loud enough for the girl across from him to hear. Her drink caught his eye. Lachlan bit down on his tounge, hard. He suddenly realized that he hadn't had a drink in three days. There had been too much work to get done in a such a short period of time that the fact that he was going purely off of caffeine had never crossed his mind. His tastebuds tingled, longing for a taste of the sweet red wine he had consumed many glasses of since arriving in Venice. The young man cleared his throat, attempting to push the thought from his mind. He finally turned his eyes away from the taunting red liquid and to a lovlier sight.
"What led you here today?" Lachlan questioned of Violet. His hands were busy twirling noodles around the prongs of his fork and then letting them fall in masses back onto his plate. He smiled at the art of it all, the sauce decorating the noodles and the noodles decorating the plate. His face retained the same dreamy expression as he glanced at Violet. Once again his mind seemed disconnected from his body, though he could clearly hear every word she was pronouncing. His eyes danced over her tender flesh suddenly wondering what it would be like to have those lips for his own. But in his mind he knew that this was the poisonous apple. No matter how much he longer for the girl-no woman sitting in front of him, he would probably never have her. She would become an actress and move on to bigger and better things, things that didn't involve Lachlan.
The sudden depressing thoughts made Lachlan hunger for a drink even more. He stood up abruptly, gesturing to Violet that he would be back in one moment. It may or may not have been a bad thing that Lachlan knew exactly where to go to tickle his tastebuds. He barely looked as his feet carried him to a small bar hidden in the corner of the street. At his first step inside he could spell crushed grapes and freshly baked bread. He breathed deeply, attempting to take it all in before he had to step back out the doors. And in about three minutes he did just that. Now he clutched a clear glass of red wine in his right hand. He quickly hurried back to table where Violet was seated, taking a swig of the liquor. Delicious. "Excuse me for the interruption. I was very thirsty. The heat out here is just different opposed to what I'm coming from." He pressed the glass to his lips once more, then seemed to think better of it. "Cheers!"

Violet smiled toward Lachlan she couldn’t help but be a flirt with him. She wasn’t usually a flirt with guys but Lachlan was the exception to the rule. She felt that he was flirting back with her so she kind kept with the flirting thing. She was twirling her brown locks in her fingers in a flirting manner. She looked at him her brown eyes flirting with him as well. She was staring at him in this flirty way that she couldn’t help but do.
“Very classic, perfect Italian day, I’m surprised there aren’t more tourists around today” said Violet
She’d lived in Italy long enough to know on days like this the tourists were out. Violet looked down at her food. She was pretty sure it was amazing she just wasn’t all that in the mood to eat. The skinny girl felt like she’d gain a ton of weight eating it.
“It is about as good as Odette’s toast after she’s been out drinking all night” said Violet
Ok that was a lie sort of, Odette’s toast when she was severely hung over did suck but so did everyone elses. Violet really just didn’t want to eat and telling Lachlan that could be bad for her and for them. She let the wine sit there now her attention consumed by Lachlan. She couldn’t help but look at Lachlan with fascination and adoration. She wished that people would stop fighting and they could be together.
“Boredom, and a need to be outside, and this is the only halfway decent café that is not taken over by tourists ninety five percent of the time” said Violet
Violet watched him twirl the alfredo around the plate. She was consumed by everything he was saying to her. Longing to be with him came up again and she had to kill the desire before it would consume her. She wanted to be his and only his. She was holding out for him. She knew she shouldn’t want him as much as she did. Being with him would be like taking a bite out of the forbidden fruit. She shouldn’t want to have it so much but it was hard when she was so close to him. She could touch and she could see but she couldn’t have. If she didn’t get anywhere with her acting career she would love to live here in Italy with Lachlan or wherever Lachlan decided he wanted to live.
She watched him walk to get some wine. Violet gestured to a waiter quickly and asked him to refill her glass. The waiter returned rather quickly with the refill. She watched Lachlan when he came back and sat down.
“It is no trouble at all Lachlan, where are you from Lachlan” said Violet
Violet raised her glass to him slightly.
“Salute” said Violet
Violet used her free hand to smooth out her chocolate brown and light tan skirt since she noticed a slight wrinkle in it. She was wearing one of her classic outfits that day. It was chocolate brown and light tan with three quarter length sleeves and she was wearing tan decorative tights with her chocolate brown heels.
Looking at Lachlan reminded Violet so much of her eighteenth birthday. She had had a huge party with ball gowns and masks. Hers had been a silver one sleeved floor length gown with a coordianting mask. She had been dancing with the guests when she had gotten bored and excused herself to get a drink. And there he was at the table with the champagne, Lachlan Robinson. She didn't know who he was at the time she'd gone up to him and started talking with him and they ended up dancing and the next thing she knew she was head over heals for him.

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. Lachlan was impressed with the girl's forwardness. He watched as her fingers danced through his hair. His breath caught his throat and he quickly shoved a few noodles down his throat. The taste completely bypassed his taste buds and he breathed a sigh in relief. A small sip of wine washed down any remaining residue. But Lachlan wasn't one to waste a perfectly good sip. He swallowed half the glass in a quick, delicate manner. The alcohol burned his throat in a good manner. This wine had been poured in his glass by the eldest member of the house every night at dinner since he was only twelve years old. Alcohol was simply mandatory now. Lachlan returned the glass to its sitting position on top of the two books he had just placed on the table. He figured that in this advantageous spot a waiter would wonder by to refill it. Anyone who was anyone, namely the students, knew that the service here was amazing. And the outfits each waiter or waitress was made to wear, were ingenious.
A shadow suddenly fell over the table. Lachlan turned his gaze from Violet to glance at the sky. A single, white cloud had fallen over the sun. He let a slight frown cross his brow. Moments earlier the sky had been completely clear. Where had that cloud come from? The sun quickly reappeared as the cloud pushed its way past it, clearly intent on getting away from this city. Lachlan shrugged off the thoughts and glanced at Violet, smiling back at her. "Oh, I don't want to sit here eating alone. Why don't you let me buy you something else? Something that's actually good." He attracted a waitress by catching his eye. Lachlan nodded for him to remove the plates from in front of them. The waitress gladly obliged, her bright red dress blowing around her feet as she danced over to them. He admired the costume, wondering if he would ever be in a show where the costumes were so...flashy.
"There!" Lachlan pronounced with delight, quickly getting to his feet. His eyes caught onto the two books sitting at the edge of the table. He noticed, with a slight annoyance, that the wine glass still had not been topped off. That made up his mind. He would leave the books to keep the glass propped up and desperately hope that when he returned the glass would be filled and the books would still be lying there. Lachlan nodded his head, a swift nod that clearly meant he was satisfied with his decision. He figured that this action was probably strange in Violet's mind and took a few steps towards her chair. He offered her a hand. "Well? Why don't we grab a bite to eat?" Lachlan smiling, showing his teeth. He hoped that this would be a persuasion on his part. Anyways, who wouldn't want to hold the pretty girl's hand? His smile grew slightly at the thought.
His eyes instantly racked over their line up of restaurants. Lachlan glanced around, still keeping his hand out. A sudden thought struck him. He had never answer Violet's question. He had simply been to caught up in his idea and in that petite glass of wine. "Pardon but I forgot to tell you. My family bloodline originally begins in Britain. My branch of the family simply became annoyed in all the traveling required just to visit someone so...comes about our home here." Lachlan sighed, missing the scenery of Britain. Italy was beautiful, there was no denying that fact. But the real reason they had moved, was to remove themselves from Lachlan's father when his mother had re-married. And of course, everyone knew that Lachlan would be attending this school to keep in line with the family history. So they had ended up in Venice, though there house actually was located in Florence. Lachlan quickly shook off his thought, returning his smile to his face and directing it towards Violet. Another beautiful thing.

Violet watched Lachlan still playing with his hair slightly as he took a bite of the alfredo. She watched as he took a fairly good sip of wine and then set his glass down to be refilled. Violet had had wine for as far back as she could remember, it was a requirement at the dinner table once you hit the age twelve. It was a common place for her to have wine with everything she ate, not that everything she ate stayed in her stomach. She had this bad habit of gorging on food and then throwing it all up.
She looked and saw the cloud and was a little peeved about it. It was ruining her perfect scene that she had going in her head. As it moved away trying to get out of the beautiful city Violet was back to her good mood. She didn’t want anything messing this day up for her. She watched the waitress come over when Lachlan gestured for her. She watched the costumes of the people. She loved how elaborate they were, they’d make for beautiful costumes for a production. So flashy, colorful, full of life. Everything that should make the costumes for a production.
Violet watched him as he got to feet with a delighted there. She watched him. She was a little annoyed that the waiters had been slacking on their jobs and weren’t refilling her glasses but she wasn’t going to demand their immediate prescence over by her even if she was about six seconds away from doing so.
“Let’s go” said Violet
She took Lachlan’s hand and stood up holding on to his hand. She could have liked to been able to wrap her arms around his arm and hold him there close to her. She could tell he’d been a little caught up in what he was thinking to answer her question so she was waiting patiently for him.
“Well at least you know where yours starts, my dad was adopted so who knows where that will lead too” said Violet “But I was born and raised her in Italy”
She didn’t really have the accent since she had spent allot of times in the states. Her accent was a mix of both. She’d done things in the United states that dealt with her acting. She’d been to camps over there, and classes. She took acting classes in Venice too but was enrolled in Tuscany. She just needed some classes that they didn’t offer at Tuscany in Venice.
She smiled at him, he was perfect, his deep brown eyes, the smile, his hair that looked like he’d rolled out of bed and ran a hand through it. Sometimes Violet wished she could do that but she couldn’t due to her long hair and not wanting to cut it. She loved her long hair.

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. Lachlan wasn't looking at Violet as she gripped his hand, but a sudden warmth spreading through him made it clear that she was holding on. A small smile spread across his face and he quickly tugged her through the crowds. He leaned in slightly to her, suddenly aware that he could easily twine his fingers with hers. He hesitated for a moment, feeling his hand tense up. What if Violet was against the action? What if her parents saw him? He knew the everlasting feud between them still remained. Lachlan drew a deep breath, quickly summing up his actions. Finally, he seemed to decide that he would be willing to face trouble and slid his fingers through the slits of Violet's. The warmth increased and he tugged the girl slightly closer, shooting the bright smile on his face in her direction. God, he seriously hoped she felt the same way he did. Otherwise, he was going to feel like a complete idiot when she pulled away.
Lachlan continued along, walking slowly to match his strides to the pretty girl walking alongside him. His eyes locked on a set of flowers blooming outside one of the stores. He was mesmerized by the bright colors. A single flower gave the sky a run for its money with the pretty blue petals shooting from the head. Small white dots, possibly symbolizing the clouds, were dotted up and down each petal. Another was a bright pink, matching the window shutters of the store. It was a wonder how they had been so spot-on when selecting their color choices. But it was the last that was far beautiful than the rest. It sat in the dirt with a thin green stem. The head on top of the stem had barely opened. You could just barely see the dainty yellow color peaking out. The beauty of birth and life. Lachlan sighed in content before squeezing lightly on the girl's hand and tugging her farther along.
"What were you looking to eat today?" he asked, his eyes searching the shops along the road. A sudden gleam struck his eyes and he turned to Violet, a look of excitement having taken over his face. "I have someplace I'd like to show you." He squeezed her hand again before continuing with a brisk pace. His head spun from side to side until he located the store he was looking for. It was hidden in a corner, easily being passed by the tourists roaming the city. A delighted smirk crossed his face as he pulled her to the whitewashed door and then inside. The inside brought a sudden blast of color. Hanging from the walls were streamers of pink, red, gold, orange, blue, and any other color you could possibly imagine. Stuffed animals stared from every shelf. And jar upon jar of candy lined the walls and shelves. Lachlan waved the the lady at the counter, though he couldn't quite remember her face. He turned to Violet, knowing she was probably thinking him crazy right about then.
"This is an important place to me," Lachlan whispered to her. "I know it looks childish but I was child when my father first brought me here. This was where I came when I got separated from my parents when I was only five years old. These people took such great care of me. And ever since..." Lachlan ran his fingers over a plush toy sitting near his hand. "I've come here whenever I need quiet. I hope you don't mind if we take a break from our search for food. If you want some candy feel free to get some. I'll pay." He let go of her hand and moved toward the counter, talking quietly to the girl at the counter. Finally she nodded and Lachlan moved back to Violet. He gripped both of her hands and tugged her towards a door. The door revealed a set of stairs which led a to a balcony. Cade threw the door open and walked out, seeing the view for the first time in months. He turned to Violet smiling, "Isn't it beautiful?"

Violet kept her grip on his hand, she wasn’t going to let go now, this was the first true gesture of affection he’d ever given her. She noticed as he leaned closer to her as he pulled her through the crowd. She let him slide his fingers between hers, not caring about the everlasting feud between the families, not caring if her parents saw. She smiled at him leaning in closer to him. She felt truly lovely when he was with her, nothing mattered, her need to be skinny, her need to do everything perfectly. Suddenly the world was right and she didn’t need to change. She knew that this feeling would go away again when she went home where she felt her life was going to pieces.
She matched her strides to his keeping up with him which was easy enough since he was moving slow which was good for her heels. She looked at the flowers outside the shop trying to see what Lachlan was seeing. She saw the bright colors, and then the blue one that was almost as blue if not more so than the sky itself. She looked at the little one ready to bloom, ready to be beautiful, Violet wondered if she’d ever hit that point where she was ready to bloom.
She turned her attention to the brunette guy in front of her, her attention was consumed by his beauty. His hair which looked like he had rolled out of bed and ran his fingers through it, his clothes, just him in general. She loved how he looked, how nicely his hand fit with hers it was a match made in heaven. Violet knew she’d gladly give up her name for his if they ever did.
“I’m a vegetarian” said Violet “So anywhere that has vegetarian options on the menu is fine”
She smiled when he said he had somewhere to show her. She followed him, willing to follow him to the ends of the earth. The place he took her was hidden in a small corner, easily passed by tourists roaming the city. She was watching as he pulled into the building which outside was so plain, but the inside, was beautiful, a blast of color, streamers of pink, red, gold, orange and blue plus many other colors that Violet couldn’t even thing of the names of. There were stuffed animals on every shelf, and jars upon jars of candy. Violet noticed the Lachlan wave at the lady at the counter, Violet gave her a slight nod of her head to acknowledge the woman who Lachlan seemed to know.
“It’s lovely” said Violet “I understand the need to get away”
Violet knew that this would be a nice place for her to go and sit just to be away from everyone at home. They had no idea how badly her life was spiraling out of control for her. She shook her head no to the candy thing she was hungry but she really wasn’t going to eat candy it wasn’t good for her. Violet felt herself getting tugged before she came out of her watching, she followed him willingly up the stairs and out to the balcony. She looked at the view when the door opened. She looked at the view it was lovely, open and so free.
“It’s wonderful” said Violet
Violet tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ear just looking at the view from the house, it was gorgeous. She looked at everything, she looked back at Lachlan so tempted to kiss him but at the same time not sure she should. She just stood by him looking at him her hand entwined with his. It was such a nice easy fit, so comfortable so right. It was like his hand was built for hers.

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. Lachlan finally released his grip on Violet's hands. A sudden emptiness sparked through his body. He drew a deep breath and quickly buried his hands in his pockets. He moved slowly to sit on the balcony ledge, simply staring out across the scenery. A small smile slowly crossed his face and he turned to Violet, letting his smile grow even larger as he glanced at her. He patted the place next to him, beckoning her to take a seat next to him. Lachlan finally removed his eyes from her face and let his eyes roam over the top of the buildings. It was a gorgeous sight, so bright and lively. Lachlan could recall fond memories that had taken place on the balcony of this building. This is where he had read his favorite book so many times, where he had run to when he was angry or upset with his family, and where he had had his first kiss.
Lachlan was grateful to have the chance to introduce this place he loved most to the girl he loved most. Lachlan's smile suddenly fell. He knew it, always in the back of his mind, but he never acknowledged it so outright. It was true. It was fact. He was in love with Violet Rolph. And he doubted that there were many people who didn't know it, considering his actions every time he was around her. Perhaps the only person to not know was...her. Lachlan turned slightly to face her and stare curiously at his face. He let his frown dissolve rather quickly as he stared at her, though trying not to make it too obvious. It was then that he wondered how it was possible to not love the girl. Not only was she beautiful, but she had an amazing personality and so many skills behind the pretty face. She could have anything she wanted...so why would she ever choose him?
Lachlan sighed quietly and kicked a small speck of dirt on the ground. It had most likely slipped from the potted plant sitting on the ledge. Whatever was planted in it had apparently never grown or hadn't yet started growing. Lachlan stared at it, biting down on his lip. Finally, he turned to Violet and put another smile back on his face. He hoped that it didn't seem forced. He was trying desperately to smile with ease but it was hard when you were about to admit something to someone. Something that could possibly destroy every last hope of confidence he had. Lachlan bit down on his tongue, hard. The pain shot up his mouth and messed slightly with his head. He kept the annoyed look off off his face and instead took a deep breath and turned himself until he was facing Violet completely. He took in her face one more time before starting.
"Violet..." Lachlan hesitated, letting the name rest on his tongue. It was like a sweet candy that was too addicting to eat. If he wasn't careful it was easy to get hooked on it. He continued. "I have something I want to tell you." He had always been the romantic type, so why was it now that all words and actions had failed him? He swallowed, feeling his throat suddenly go dry. "I don't know how you feel about me Violet...but I really, really hope you feel the same way as me. I just-just have to get this off my chest." Lachlan knew he had deep water and there was officially no going back. "You're gorgeous, you're personality is lovely, you just...you make me feel happy to be alive. I just want you to know...that I feel like that. Because I love you!" Lachlan's eyes widened as these last words strayed from his lips. He bounded to his feet and stared at her with horror, wondering what he had just done.

You filled my soul With your beauty and with hope We're different although We were just like water in sand When he released her hand, she felt a sudden emptiness like a shock to her system. It wasn’t the same pleasant electricity that she got from Lachlan. Violet’s brown eyes examined the scenery looking around trying to distract herself from thinking about how empty her hands felt. She smiled at him as he crossed to the balcony ledge to sit down. She went and joined him at his seat her heels making a clicking noise along the balcony’s surface. She sat down next to him as close to him as she could be without making him feel threatened. She looked at the roof top, it was separate from everything it would make it so much easier for her to come here and escape the stress she often felt but kept bottled up. Violet could lean back and breathe.
Violet was glad that he guy she loved had introduced her to this beautiful place. Violet had just happened to glance over when his smile fell. She didn’t know what had just happened, had she done something wrong the questions swirled through her already troubled mind.
“Lachlan, what what’s wrong” said Violet
She looked at the guy she loved, the guy she wanted to give everything away too. Concern laced her features, what was wrong. She couldn’t figure it out, her mind was racing waiting for him to say something. That was when he started to kick some dirt that had more than likely slipped from the potted plant. She knew it hadn’t started growing but wasn’t sure what was in the plant thing. Violet wanted to make it right with Lachlan why was he behaving so odd suddenly. She noticed him smile it was forced yes but a step up from the frown that had laced his gorgeous face.
Finally he started to speak. Violet sighed in relief that he was speaking but now worried about what he was going to say. Was he going to tell her that he was too good for her, she’d protest severely. She didn’t feel that they were too good for one another they were perfect.
”Violet”
She looked up at the sound of her name, he was hesitating. What was going on. Violet reminded herself to breathe. She let out a breath she hadn’t known she’d been holding when he continued.
”I have something I want to tell you”
Violet listened to the velvety sound of his voice, addicting, sweet, and she was hooked on it. When he went on talking Violet watched him listening and then the three words, the eight letters she’d been longing to hear from him made their way out of his mouth
Because I love you
She was about to say it back when he bound to his feet looking at her in complete horror. He had let it slip, he’d let what he was truly feeling slip. She looked up at him and then got off of her seat and went to him. Wrapping her arms around him, sure he’d feel how frail she was where she thought he’d feel fat but she put her arms around him holding him close to her.
“I love you too Lachlan” said Violet. Lyrics: For Amelie by Leave eyes

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. Years seemed to pass as Lachlan just stood there. His mouth hung open behind his open palm. He couldn't imagine what he should possibly say next. After all, he had just spilled the deepest secret in his life to the girl that was practically the center of his entire world. And it was true. There was a hardly a day where Lachlan couldn't wake up and not think about the one beautiful girl who he knew he could never have. And if he had ever thought that he had any chance he had ruined that chance right then. Lachlan could hear himself breathing, could feel his heart pumping in his chest, yet time had stopped. All he could see was this girl in front of him. Lachlan felt his face tensing up and quickly snapped his mouth close. His hand remained suspended over his closed lips. He shuddered slightly when he saw Violet move and thought about backing away. Violet's hand around his waist made up his mind for him.
He could feel his body heat up where her hands lay. His breath caught in the back of his throat and he couldn't think of what he should do. His hands slowly wound around her waist and he pulled her to him. Her words made him pull Violet tighter to him. Lachlan buried his face in her neck, breathing in her sweet smell and suddenly having an overwhelming feeling to cry. But he knew that he couldn't possibly break down in this situation. He was a man and he was going to prove it...right then. Lachlan pulled slightly away before pressing his lips to Violet's. He held tightly onto her, refusing to let her go with both his lips and with his hands. This was the moment he had been waiting for since he first saw this girl's face. And finally he got the chance. There was no way that he was going to let her get away.
Finally, he had to come back for air and pulled only slightly away. Lachlan pressed his forehead to Violet's, letting the tip of his nose barely touch hers. He stared into her eyes, sliding his tongue around his mouth and attempting to say something...anything. By now he was sure that his eyes were glossed over and he might have looked a little drunk. And it was true. He was drunk on happiness. A term known as 'giddy.' Lachlan smiled slightly at her, suddenly not wanting to move. His hands stayed positioned on his hips. "You don't know how glad I am to hear you say that." He kissed her quickly again; just a small peck on the lips. "You're beautiful, you know that?"

You filled my soul With your beauty and with hope We're different although We were just like water in sand Violet sighed when he wrapped his arms around her, a content sigh, a happy sigh, a sigh that said all was right with the world. She kissed him back as his lips pressed against hers. His lips tasted as sweet as she thought they would. Felt like she thought they would. They were perfect. She’d fallen for him when he crashed her eighteenth birthday. She kept her arms around his waist. She kept him close to her, where she felt comfortable with him and safe in his arms.
When he let go for air it was a weird feeling but his forehead against hers was comfortable. Their noses were touching keeping contact with one another. She let her hands rest against Lachlan’s waist. She was so lost in his brown eyes that she had no idea what anything else around her was anymore. She smiled up at him, she was so high she was never coming down from. She felt whole like the world was right. She didn’t know how much she needed him before that moment.
“You have no idea how long I have been waiting for you” said Violet
She returned the quick peck on the lips, it was a sweet small kiss, romantic and not flashy. She blushed when he called her beautiful. In her mind she was anything but beautiful. She wished she were skinny. In reality she really was skinny but in her mind she was fat and not worth being with.
“And you are perfect” said Violet
She had always loved his look, his I just got out bed hair that looked good on him but if anyone else had it she would have been a little grossed out. His brown eyes that seemed to hold back something. His smile she loved to see him smile, what wasn’t perfect when he smiled. Violet kept her arms around him not wanting to break contact with him. She needed him like she needed oxygen. It was a beautiful feeling, and one that she couldn’t let go of. Lyrics: For Amelie by Leave eyes

;;But you'll never see;; The raindrops in my eyes;; Drowning in my tears;; All those nights, all these years. Lachlan chuckled slightly, leaning forward only slightly to rub his nose delicately over her cheek. He was tempted to pick the girl up bridal style and swing her around, just to prove how happy he was right then. In front of him stood this amazing girl and she loved him back. Lachlan suddenly let a wave of relief wash over him and ran his fingers up and down her back, playing with the tips of Violet's hair. He wanted to kiss her again, again, and again. Lachlan satisfied his craving with another few small kisses on the cheek to the mouth. There would be more time to experiment later. Lachlan pressed his mouth to the side of her face so she could feel the bright smile spreading across his face. He wasn't sure what to say next. This...this was what he had been waiting for his entire life. A girl he loved saying that she shared the exact same feelings as him. Lachlan had to kiss her one more time.
Lachlan could suddenly feel a vibrating echoing in his pocket. He sighed quietly and retracted a hand from her waist. It slid into his pocket and Lachlan put it to his ear. A loud screech echoed from the other end and Lachlan pulled away from Violet and turned around, whispering quietly into the phone. His expression changed quickly until it was simply blank, the happiness only moments before completely gone. Lachlan snapped the phone closed and turned to stare at Violet. "I'm...I'm sorry." He clutched the phone to his chest, almost afraid that he would toss it off the wall. "I have to go." Lachlan tried to recreate the smile on his face only moments before. It was a successful failure.

Violet was so happy in his arms at the moment it was ridiculous. She was nuzzled up against him, they were stealing little kisses here and there. She was happy just being held by him. Kissing and hugging. She just wanted to stay there forever. She was in love and he loved her back and that was what was making her world turn now. Everything was fine until Lachlan's cell phone went off.
Violet watched the expression on Lachlan's face drop till it was blank. She watched how he clutched the phone. She heard what he said and worry over took her. She didn't know what was wrong.
"Lachlan" asked Violet "What's wrong do you need help"
She saw him try to fake the smile he had earlier unsuccessfully and it was making her more worried.
